Exiting the Release Date field "dirties" the underlying document

Issue #446 closed
Warren Young created an issue

It appears that the on-exit event for the Release Date field is adding the current value to the undo stack even if it hasn't changed.

To reproduce: Open an existing movie file, click into its Release Date field, then Tab out.

Symptoms: A dot appears in the "close" bubble in the upper left corner of the window, the Undo Editing menu item ungrays, and closing the movie causes a warning about exiting without saving changes.

This began happening several releases ago, and I'm just now getting annoyed enough with it to file a report. Sorry for the delay.

I run into this when re-encoding existing movies, where I have to have both the old and new versions of the movie open in different windows so that I can copy the data from the old version to the new one.

Tab is not the key element of the bug reproduction. Any field exit causes it, so double-clicking into the Release Date field and then double-clicking another field also shows it.
