Subler still creates white chapter thumbnails for HDR files

Running mac os Mojave on a mac mini 2012, subler still creates white chapter thumbnails when remuxing HEVC HDR files into mp4/4v. There was an open issue for this which was closed becuse it was supposedly fixed in mac os mojave. For me this is not the case. In fact, prior to mojave the thumbnails created would be nearly white with some details of the scene still visible. In mojave the thumbnails are now pure white rectangles. Screenshot of the problem is attached.

P.S. No matter where the file is played whether in itunes, quicktime or via apple tv 4k the thumbnails are pure white rectangles.
