Error: "The file couldn't be optimized. An error occurred while optimizing the file." in Batch Queue

Issue #627 new
Matt Anderson created an issue

Has anyone had the error: "The file couldn't be optimized. An error occurred while optimizing the file."?

I am using the Queue, and dropping files onto it. It has come up quite a few times lately. It only has this problem about half the time when I check “Optimize” in the Batch Queue. Occasionally, I will restart and it will work fine for many files, then all of a sudden show up again.

The Message Log says about a file: 2:1:21 The file “My Video.m4v” couldn’t be saved in the folder “Working”. I checked info and permissions in the folder and I have read and write permissions, and 1TB available.

Subler 1.6.9 (and many previous versions too); MacOS 11.0.1 (and it also happens on 10.14).

    happened to me as well (subler 1.6.9 + macpro3,1 + macos 10.15.7)

But, at that time harddisk was 98% full (mine was 30TB raiddisk), as soon as I free up more space, the problem went away.

So, I believe it has something to do with storage

    Hope it helps

I believe to have found a work around, and it seems not to be a problem with Subler:
I run the optimization on an external disk. After seeing the problem with optimization, I eject this disk and mount it again, and everything is fine.
