3D subtitles of SBS are mid left and mid right centered

Issue #63 invalid
Mar H created an issue

What steps will reproduce the problem? 1. Having a 3D MP4 file that was created from a 3D Blu-Ray in 'Split Screen' 3D-format with several subtitle tracks. 2. Create a Movie-MPEG4 file with Subler 3. View the file in QuickTime Player, or import the file in iTunes and view it in Apple TV.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead? Expected: The subtitles on each Side-By-Side screen should be centered per screen. Instead: The subtitles on the left screen are right centered and the subtitles on the right screen are left centered. As a result the subtitles are messed up when viewing the file on a 3D TV.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system? Subler 0.31on OS X Yosemite 10.10.2

Please provide any additional information below. See the screen-shot to clarify the wrong placement of the subtitles.

Thanks, I've just contacted Apple Support and they said that 3D was not supported in iTunes/Apple-TV yet. They were actually surprised that the 3D movie could be played correctly from my iTunes library in Apple TV. So there's not a lot they can do about this to fix it. I was not sure if it was an Apple problem, as the problem also reproduces when I play the movie on other players on my iMac, like the VLC player, and QuickTime. Of course I can't see the movie in 3D then, but the problem with the subtitles shows up with every player, just like it does in the screenshot. Could it be that the problem is with DVDFab who places the subtitles incorrectly or is it really with the players (Apple) like you said ?
