I have a video file with an audio container whose name column says surround 7.1 and format column says DTS, 8ch. After I convert the MKV to an M4V, The name column still says surround 7.1 but the format column says DTS, 2ch. Why does it say 2ch instead of 8ch? Did I somehow loose my surround sound channels?

No, that’s just a the UI displaying the wrong channel count.

So this is just a Subler UI bug that can be fixed?
