Save as… Hangs

Attempts to invoke “Save as…” fail. Subler (v. 1.75) beachballs for a while, then recovers but just silently fails to open the dialog. Running under macOS Monterey 12.6.6 (Apple Silicon, M2 Max). Activity Monitor shows “com.apple.appkit.xpc.openAndSavePanelService (Subler) (Not Respoonding)”. Worked fine until today, problem persists after a system reboot.

<emily litella voice>Never mind</emily litella voice> Turned out to be a system wide issue (or at least affected all appkit apps). Lots of reports of this problem on Apple Support fora over the years since (at least) Sierra with no widely agreed upon cause or solution. In my case it finally went away after closing all apps and restarting without checking “reopen windows.”
