Maybe additional information could be included in Stracciatella's readme file:

• Is it necessary to patch JA2 vanilla before installing Stracciatella?

Atm, the readme file is not 100% clear on this subject. Imo, installation procedure should always be absolutely clear to understand to make sure, that all users can install the mod without messing up.
