No space left on device

I have 16TB free space and approximately 700 GB memory. I am trying to align paired end fastq files of about 2.6 GB each using KMA. But everytime I try to run KMA it throws the following error "Error: 28 (No space left on device)". I am trying to understand what must be causing the error. Any help would be much appreciated.

It might the temporary files that is the issue. Can you try to set the tmp directory using “-tmp” to e.g. the output directory or a local disk.

Yes, it was the temporary files. I just rectified it.
