Long URLs get truncated

Issue #50 new
Jukka Paajanen created an issue

Long URL (think of over 1000 characters) get truncated somewhere between the source and new Edge.

Specifically in my case, an external source sends a link to my hotmail.com account. Their spam detection and filtering turns that in to a very long URL.

I can see from the log that BC2 receives it correctly, the matching process deals with it fairly, it tried to launch Edge with the correct parameters. Switching to use Chrome, it gets launched correctly. I know if Edge is the default browser, clicking on the link from Outlook launches it correctly in Edge. I can’t figure out if this is a bug in the code itself or in how Edge reads command line or how Edge is registered in the BC2.

Just in case, Edge Version 90.0.818.66 (Official build) (64-bit)

For reproing, https://www.microsoft.com/?some=randomparameters&aakjdfj=aoejrfaakushefluhaefhn&aljksfe=aafklsek3urhak3hfekujahla3khrafku3hufa98ehfa836hf3akuehflkauh3fea6sehalh3&akludshf=aakeuyhflakehfalksdyfhalkrefhalskefyhalskyhfalkeyhfalkeyhflkayhelkfaheklhfk&test=this_should_be_visible - launching you can see if the last this_should_be_visible stays there or gets truncated. Edge cuts it several characters before the last &this…

Otherwise great tool, love it.

I’m able to reproduce this consistently for long URLs. I use BC2 primarily to direct email links to one of two browsers based upon the Auto-URL regex list. Long URLs seem to be truncated to 244 characters when sent to Edge and this causes a variety of confusing symptoms.
