libgphobos2 doesn't respect the --enable-shared

mrgojira avatarmrgojira created an issue

I was trying to build a shared lib with a 64 bit d2 installation from the current codebase and I'm running into what looks to be an error related to libghpobos2 not being built as a shared lib (or more pointedly I haven't been able to enable PIC in the lib.

Are shared libs supported at this point? I remember being able to build them with the original gdc.

Here's the output: gdc -shared -fPIC -o libtestlib2.so testlib2/dylib.d /usr/bin/ld: /home/bkropf/Development/local/bin/../lib/gcc/x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu/4.3.4/../../../../lib64/libgphobos2.a(deh.o): relocation R_X86_64_32 against `_D39TypeInfo_AS3gcc3deh18OurUnwindException6initZ' can not be used when making a shared object; recompile with -fPIC /home/bkropf/Development/local/bin/../lib/gcc/x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu/4.3.4/../../../../lib64/libgphobos2.a: could not read symbols: Bad value
