MATLAB wrapper example project doesn't work

The example_project for the MATLAB wrapper doesn't work anymore.

Fixing this could potentially lead to figuring out why the mex wrapper gives undefined symbol errors for even the simplest projects.

I think you :-) DoubleExpresso is a good example of something that works. I think it's probably a cmake thing. But, also @thduynguyen

DoubleExpresso also gives undefined symbol errors in the mex file. I was hoping to create a very minor wrapper to test things out and have been unable to so far.
