#8: trkbootnet does not working

Issue #8 resolved
Former user created an issue

Hi everyone,

I downloaded TRK 3.4 Build 394 (it doesn't work with every Build since 372 I guess). trkbootnet brings up the error "Starting NFS daemon FAILED"

in /var/log/messages and /var/log/daemons/errors is something like "nfssvc: Function not implemented"

If I "kill" everything (killdhcpd; kill tftp, nfs stop) and run trkbootnet again it shows no errors but in the end it's not working.

Can anyone help me with this issue please?

Tanks in advanced for the time.

    Hi Tom,

with build 396 it is not working. There are no errors on the server present, so starting trkbootnet looks fine. But the client hangs on "starting rpc.statd". After some time it quits with an error "something went wrong". dmesg shows no errors.

Thanks in advanced for your time helping me!!!!

    Best regards, Flo

It seems in older kernels the loopback interface was brought up at boottime in kernel mode. It seems now the interface was down which prevented nfs services from starting up properly. Now it gets brought up before anything else. Please download build 398
