Job is endlessly in queue

Issue #11 resolved
Former user created an issue

Hello. I am a student from UCL and I am in need of your program in order to complete my thesis for submission on 31/8. However there seems to be a problem with your online server. Since this morning, I have submitted a job but it has been in queue for an extended period of time. This problem has occurred before and the server problem was fixed last month. The program has been running smoothly and quickly for the past few weeks but just today, it is not working again. I was wondering if you can take a look at the server, as I urgently need to use your program for my analysis.

Thanks a lot! Natalie

    Hi Natalie,

Thanks for your interest in Arpeggio. It looks like we have a problem with the queuing system.

Are you using the mirror at biosig.unimelb.edu.au? I'm struggling to access the machine to check what's gone wrong at the moment, but I'll keep trying.

The other option would be to install Arpeggio locally, but it's a bit more involved and it would be the last thing you want to do while you're writing your thesis!

How many structures do you need to analyse? If they are PDB entries (or other non-confidential/sensitive data that you can share), if you email me at hj4 [at] sanger [dot] ac [dot] uk, I can run them for you.

    Hope that helps,

    Harry

    Hi Natalie,

My colleague David Ascher has kindly looked into the issue and fixed the queue on the University of Melbourne mirror,

Everything should be working at http://biosig.unimelb.edu.au/arpeggioweb now, but let me know if you have any further issues.

All the best for your thesis, hang in there!

    Kind regards,

    Harry
