Feature: Replace the "partial results" tooltip with a permanent widget

Issue #404 closed

Originally reported on Google Code with ID 404

If the "calc-as-you-type" feature (which displays the "current result" or "selection
result" in a tooltip) is really worth having (I think it is), then it would be good
to put it in a permanent widget so that it is displayed all the time, instead of using
a tooltip, which disappears after a brief time.

This would mean that if you came back to Speedcrunch after doing something else, you
could immediately see where you were at.

    ``` Hi, Alister. Thanks for the suggeestion. If you had an option to keep the tooltip visible all the time would that suffice and make sense to you? ```
    ``` Yes, I guess so, although I'm not sure I'd still describe it as a tooltip in that case ;)

    (sorry, I hit reply in Gmail, so I guess you'll probably get this as mail too) ```

    Hi, I do not know how it appears in Microsoft Systems but here in Ubuntu 13.10 the partial
    result in the tool-tip covers the editing line of calculation causing troubles. It
    would be better to place it other where maybe at the far right or to place it visible
    as a permanent textarea.

    Thx

    Alessandro, can you please upload a screenshot illustrating what you described? I'm
    using 12.04 here and I've never seen that issue.

    I am on mac os and find it extremely annoying the tooltip that covers the input field.
    It's impossible to see what you typing if you pause for a sec. How cna I disable the
    tooltip overlay ? The only possible way I found is to invalidate the function adding
    random letters then removing them before hitting enter (very frustrating)

    Diego and Alessandro: can you check whether this occurs only with the status bar visible?
    I'm still not able to reproduce this bug at all.

    Furthermore the status bar doesn't change the issue.

    alessandro.dincal: From your screenshot I realized that you're talking about version
    0.10.1. Are you able to build the current development code at all and try the current
    state?

    diegotrazzi: Are you also using version 0.10.1? If so, please see above.
