minus sign and parenthesis

There is a problem with the minus sign and parenthesis.  
For example -(1)^2=1 and (1)^2=1. But -1*(1)^2=-1 and 0-(1)^2=-1.

Steps to reproduce:
-(1)^2

Expected behavior:
= -1

Experienced behavior:
= 1
