Feature request (or bug elimination) : "Type an expression here" at start-up Let Be OPTIONAL !

Issue #695 new
Former user created an issue

Hi, the message "Type an expression here" at the program start-up irritates me a little, and I'm not able to disable it (it appears at each new start-up of the program if "Save history on exit" is unchecked). I suppose it should be displayed only once for every new user, by logic, for the user who is unfamiliar with the SpeedCrunch. Please realize an option in settings to not display it. Or, at least, let the message be disabled by pressing ESC or any symbol at editor line (currently it displays until first evaluation of expression in editor after the program start-up). Or remove it completely.

For the other, I like SpeedCrunch (I use it for first time for 2 days).

Pressing ESC does make the message go away (on Windows and Ubuntu at least).

But I agree it would be more logical to check for a "first-time use" internal flag from the settings rather than checking the presence of history to decide whether this message should be displayed or not, as history can be disabled.
