Whenever I minimize speedcrunch with "always on top" enabled, when I maximize the window disappears and cannot be located until I quit speedcrunch and restart it. the top menu bar will show but the windows itself doesn't appear until relaunch.

I found that this bug occurs when the "minimize windows into application icon" is enabled in settings->dock menu. If disabled the bug does not occur.

I am running the latest mac os sierra.

Wait a second... the 'minimize to tray' option was removed almost a year ago. @jefftambor Are you using 0.11?

@Helder: Did the OP mention OSX, or why did add the tag?

@polwel i am using the latest version, one that was just released.... i think you are misunderstanding the issue here. when the "always on top" option is selected, the window disappears upon maximize.

This bug occurs if you have (in the mac system options) "minimize windows into application icon" enabled when you go into the settings->dock. this is the option that minimizes windows into the applications own icon in the dock menu

@jefftambor Ah, I see. Sorry, I must have been a bit tired. Should go to bed now :)

    Thanks for the quick answer!

    Yes, I am.

I've checked also with a dummy application to ensure that Speedcrunch was not at fault.

However, it's not the same as QTBUG-46440.

I'd recommend that you open a report on the Qt bug report system about that matter.

@sgaist one work around could be to add a window menu in speedcrunch (like safari and many other apps) and then use SIMBL and afloat to force the window to be on top. this is one workaround we could do in speedcrunch. plus, it would be a nice option to have multiple windows of speedcrunch
