Triggered note lenght in midi editor

In the first attached file an example. One sample is triggered via midi controller at the beginning of bar 2 and and play for 2 bars. Then always via midi controller the playback is stopped.

As you can see the midi item it's very "short". What should I do to have a midi item length until the stop midi command?

This will facilitate the high level midi manipulation.

In the second attached file, a screenshot of the manual, I can see long midi items ...

I'm doing something wrong?
