Display units
Photos of first and second generation displays with resources and where to buy at the bottom of the page.
These are the first generation displays
These units were assembled using Nextion displays housed within a customized 3D-printed enclosure. They functioned effectively; however, the design and page programming necessitated the use of Windows computers, which was not ideal. Additionally, they were connected through a serial port, but I would prefer a Wi-Fi connection.
The design was inspired by contemporary Dometic control panels.
The second generation displays
While exploring the internet, I stumbled upon the OpenHASP framework designed for creating NSPanels in home automation. I also came across numerous ESP32-based NSPanels that were compatible with OpenHASP.
For the upcoming generation, I've procured panels from Sunon and installed OpenHASP on them. This enables communication via Wi-Fi and MQTT, expanding their capabilities.
And here are some photos of the prototypes.
By the Truma heater control panel, display the essentials when going to sleep and wakening up.
For the pilot, provide information about the battery status, solar charging, and crucial temperature data.
