Issue #10 resolved

Hi, The version 2.0.0 of the project role tab is no longer working on JIRA 6.1.7. Is this a known issue and is there a fix for it?

Thanks, Gaj

When i say it's not working i mean that the tab itself is not visible on the project.

    Thanks, Gaj

Did you update for version 1.x to 2.0 of JIRA Project Role Tab? If yes, please have a look at the release notes in the version history tab of https://marketplace.atlassian.com/plugins/jira.plugin.projectrole.projectroletab or wiki at https://bitbucket.org/hski/projectroletab-public/wiki/Home.

    • Only project roles are shown, which have Browse Projects permission in the permission scheme assigned to the project. If no role has Browse Project permission, then the tab is not shown.

    • Also only users with Browse Users permission from global permissions get access to the tab to show the project role assignments.

    Does this help? Holger

Hi Holger, Thanks for the swift response. I did update to version 2.0 and also did an uninstall and a clean install of 2.0 to be sure. Users do have project browse permission although the groups are LDAP groups and the users do have an overall browse user permission (again LDAP groups). Let me try to check by using a local group in case this is the issue.

    Thanks, Gaj

    Hi Holger,

I tried with a local user that has browse global permission and a browse project permission and I still don't see the project role tabs. I also tried it with another instance of JIRA also on version 6.1.7 and it's the same case.

    Thanks, Gaj

It's not only, that the users need browse project permission. You need to assign the relevant project roles to the browse project permission! Relevent means, the project roles you want to be shown in the tab. If no project role is assigned to browse project permission, then the tab is not shown.

    Cheers Holger

Hi Holger, That explains it now. Thanks for this. I was missing the actual role in the browse permission. All working now.

    Thanks, Gaj
