Allow editing of values for project admins

Issue #30 resolved
Michael Wenig created an issue

Currently a project admin is only able to add new values and to deactivate values.

Editing of existing values is only possible for jira administrators in the system administration area.

Editing should also be available for project administrators.

Yes, you are right. Editing should be possible. I will look to get it scheduled for one of the next releases.

Please note, that I will not add possibility to delete option values. For delete you need to go via JIRA administrator interface. This is because it is complex to implement handling of issues, which have this option selected.

    Cheers, Holger

I'm evaluating the Add-on as I have a couple of Project Specific fields.

It appears that only jira-administrators have access to edit options at 2.2.1

    When will it work, please?

I now experience that the editing feature may work intermittently.

If I visit a 2nd project's 'Project Specific' tab then the feature starts working.

If however, I am an administrator on a single project then it simply doesn't work for me.

The name of my project specific field is displayed only.

As of today with version 2.2 only add and disable of option values is possible for project admins via the Project Specific tab.

Via admin interface of custom fields a jira-administer is able to also edit option values for custom fields of type Project Specific Select Field and Project Specific Multi Select Field similar to JIRAs standard Select Field and Multi Select Field.

Giving this possibility also to project admins via the Project Specific tab is planned on short term for the next major release 2.3 in January 2015.

    Hope this information helps?

I started working on this feature, but I have to do major refactorings of the REST API to be able to deliver a similar user interface as for versions and components using AUI RESTful Table component. See #33 for a mockup.

Planned release date is end of March / beginning of April.

I am going to support this feature for Project Specific Select Field and Project Specific Multi Select Field, but not for Project Specific Select Field (simple) with next major release of the plugin. It will also be possible via REST API as requested in #38.

    Best regards, Holger
