Discrepancies in Searching on Project-specific select field

Is there a different way to search for non-empty project-specific fields?

We have a project-specific field that my searches are not adding up. Here are my searches: 1. Empty JQL to query all issues on Jira: 3282 2. JQL search for project_specific_field is empty: 3083 3. JQL search for project_specific_field is not empty: 1

I was expecting #3 to return 199 issues with non empty field values given #1 & #2 but only see 1. I'm the system admin and should not have issue permission problem. Where did the other 198 issues go?

We have version 2.5.5 installed.

A Project Specific Select Field like any other custom field can be configured to be relevant for selected projects or issue types. That should be the case here. Maybe contact your Jira admin to verify this.
