Log create, edit, delete of option values for Project Specific Select Field in Jira audit log

Hi

We recently faced a serious problem with respect to project specific fields

Some project admins deleted the options from the field and so many issues lost the data

Could you please provide a fix for below request?

If any options are added/removed/disabled in a project specific fields,then this info shall be captured in Audit log of Jira

    Thanks for getting in contact. I would like to ask a couple of questions to understand your situation and provide a useful improvement.

    Just to confirm, do you mean, there should be an entry for the respective Jira issues history OR do you mean to add and entry to Jira audit log, so that Jira system admins have a trace of those changes?

    I would propose to log this in Category “Fields” because here also Custom Field changes are logged. Looking at the different Coverage Levels, I would recommend to log this information only for “Advanced” level. The events to be logged would be

    • option value added
    • option value disabled
    • option value enabled
    • option value edited
    • option value deleted

    With the next version 3.3.0 of Project Specific Select Field the actions for add, edit and delete of options are logged in the audit service in Coverage area “Apps” with logging Delete Option under Coverage level “Base”, Add Option and Edit Option under “Advanced”.
