Currently we are utilizing project specific select plugin (3.0.1 server version) in our JIRA (Data Center 8.20.15) version. And we are planning to upgrade project specific select plugin to (3.2.0 Data Center approved) version.

Can you please let us know project specific select plugin (3.2.0 Data Center approved) version is compatible with Jira (DC 8.20.15) version or will it have any impact on existing project specific fields?

Also, in the future (within 2 months ) we are planning to upgrade JIRA Data Center to 9.4.2(LTS Version) by utilizing project specific select plugin (3.2.0 Data Center approved) version.

Please let us know if there is any impact on project specific fields in this case as well.?

There is no DC approved version for Jira 8. You need to update to Jira 9 DC in order to utilize PSSF DC.

But no worries, just continue with PSSF Server version in Jira 8.

Once you are doing your Jira migration to Jira 9, then switch PSSF DC version and DC license.

The upgrade to PSSF 3.2 as part of migration to Jira 9 is straight forward. The data and field configurations are migrated automatically with the Jira migration from 8 to 9.

Our license need to be renewed in 19th of Aug.
Till Aug19th we don't have plans to upgrade Jira DC to 9 series. In that case do we need to renew the PSSF server version(3.0.1) which we are currently using in Jira DC (8.20.15) ?

And in future after Sept/oct if we plan to upgrade Jira Dc to 9 series then again do we need to purchase the license for PSSF Data Center 3.2.0 version?

Okay, you need to purchase an extension of your maintenance for the Server version. That is possible until beginning of 2024. No issue.

And when you purchase your Data Center license (it is a new license type and no formal upgrade possible, it is a new purchase) I can give you a promotion code, which gives you a price reduction for the remaining overlapping maintenance period from the Server license.

Lets say your Server maintenance runs until Feb 2024, and you upgrade is in October, you would get 25 % discount for Data Center for the 3 months overlap.

That is how I did it also with other customers.
