Setting default layout options
Hi,
it would be awesome to set a default programming language and default options.
The current addons' formatting looks worse than the JIRA default.

repo owner What do you mean with "worse than JIRA default"? Can you give some examples?
Concerning default language please have a look at #39 and comment and vote there.
Kind regards, Holger

reporter Hi Holger,
the default code segment in JIRA's Wiki Markup Renderer has gray background and slightly smaller font size than the regular text. This kind a look like what I expect from code snippet segment.
The add-ons default code segment has the same font size as the regular text (or even greater) and no specific background (transparent or white). As pro argument one could say it matches the "no specific style" requirement. But it's just different, not better. So all people who won't use the add-on in our company will complain about it because there is no benefit for them (and the rest will complain about the missing default-programming-language feature).
As additional info: we are a ~400 employee company and with this size, it's sometimes hard to introduce new add-ons when something changes without an obvious benefit (=> different default code snippet style)

PS: The php code markup looks very good and I like the highlight functionality.

repo owner Concerning backgound color it is similar to Confluence. It has a border to stand out, but with white background to not highlight it too much. Take it or leave it, sorry. You can stay with JIRA standard code macro, if this is important.
Concerning font size can you please attach a screenshot?aybe it is not as supposed to be.
Cheers, Holger

reporter Well I can't tell 400 JIRA users to "take it or leave it". I just thought it was interesting for you to hear that those little problems may make your add-on unusable (for us, but maybe for others too). I can understand if you don't care.

repo owner Yes, thanks for reporting and giving this feedback! But actually I can't really understand the need to have a grey background color. With "Take it or leave it" I mean JIRA Syntax Highlighter. You can take as-is or stay with the standard JIRA wiki renderer. Or actually you can fork and create your own release if it is that important for you. Sorry, but I need to balance and cannot follow every whish and idea.
Best regards, Holger

Hi,
I attached a screenshot to show the difference. I was wrong with the font size, it's just larger than the Wiki Renderer code font size, but not larger than the regular font.
I understand that you can't change stuff just because someone doesn't like the background. It was just about the first impression.
Anyways, maybe there's a styling option in future version?! :)

https://bitbucket.org/hski/syntaxplugin-public/pull-request/11/back-compatibility-with-code-from-wiki resolves one of the issues here.

The change of the default layout is also a blocker for deploying this add-on in my organization.
