Getting license error with free trial

We are testing out the free trial to see if it will work for us. We have given non admin users the permission of “manage versions”. However when they attempt to make or edit versions there is an error below the version box that says “License is for older version and maintenance has expired. Please contact your Jira administrator”.
We are running Jira 8.8.0 and the version of Version Manager is 1.2.0 which is what comes with the free trial.

It does not say expired. We installed it today.

You need to add a license key for a trial here, which you get when you click on Free Trial, which redirects you to Atlassian Marketplace resp Atlassian My Account.

Could you attach a screenshot from the Manage app in Jira Administration showing the addon with the license like the screenshot below? Does it show “Trial Expired”?
