Transfer hdr information to tif Metadata

Issue #1347 new
Agustin Lobo created an issue

Could there be a tool to import the hdr information to the tif metadata? (eg, a button within the Raster Source Band Properties Editor)

I do not understand the implications of what you say. What I mean is that:

    1. If I use Translate (or Save as) to pass from envi bil to Geotiff, all metadata in the hdr should be present in the resulting GTiff. Perhaps what I have experienced was related to #1346 and thus my request would not be needed in this case providing Translate works well.
    2. If I have a GTiff with, eg, no wavelength and band name information, a way to import these metadata would be by means of an hdr. hdr files are text and thus easy to make up (and still the most common way of providing metadata information for hyperspectral images). Perhaps the metadata editor could have a button “Import from hdr”.

Metadata should be copied, If not, it is a bug.

    That would be possible.
