[Raster Layer Styling] Add support for categorized renderer

Assuming you have multiband raster with categorized information (e.g. classifications, binary masks) and you want to visualize it using the categorized renderer AND use the Raster Layer Styling panel with its slider functionality, there is currently (as far as I can see it) no way of doing so, as the Style will be reassigned again.
