A serious Side Effect of EnMap-box on QGIS

Issue #332 resolved

Hi, I have noticed this bug lately as being a side effect of having enmap-box plugin activated in QGIS version 3.10 and 3.12 on Windows 10, all 64bit, where QGIS hangs and its process in the Task manager shows an increase of CPU and Memory usage. To stop it, killing the process is required. The happens when trying to modify any settings options of QGIS and clicking the “Ok” button to save changes, even without making any changes.

For reproducing the situation, after installing enmap-box and its relevant python packages:

  1. Activate enmap-box plugin in QGIS plugins manager, then click “ok” button to close and save the settings.
  2. Now, from the menubar → settings → options, QGIS opens its window.
  3. without making any changes, just clicking the “Ok” button, QGIS starts to hang, not even a crash window opens.

Considering QGIS users want to change and save settings options, users have shutdown QGIS process and then start QGIS. However, any changes in the setting will not be saved.

The solution that I found was to deactivate enmap-box plugin, Then I can proceed with the changes I want to do and test.

    Can not reproduce with QGIS 3.12.0 and Version 3.6.20200320T132921.develop

    @Benjamin Jakimow Close issue?

    I confirmed that hanging is not reproducible with QGIS 3.12 and Version 3.6.20200320T132921.develop with the concern of QGIS settings options.

    You close the issue. If similar, it should reproducible with the state where and when the hang/ crash happen.
