Add "Create new layer"
Lik ein QGIS it should be possible to create new and empty layers:
- new GPKG / SHPs
- in-memory / file-base
- with / without geometry (tables, speclibs without geometry)
Related to this it should be possible to create Speclibs without a geometry, as this might not be needed

Benjamin mentioned a potential solution for that, by using conditional formating:

reporter | This can be problematic, because we loose the QGIS styling options, which we use for coloring the profiles:
I don’t think so. First of all, this issue is generally on creating new vector files, not only speclibs. Using the color of vector symbols as color for spectral profiles is only one out of other options to generate a spectral profile color. To discuss this in detail it’s probably better if you create a new issue specifically enhancements related to options to define spectral profile colors.

Agreed, the problem I mentioned is only speclib specific.
Not sure about creating new issues. I would prefere to have a Trello card for next tech talk meeting.
