corrupted images and err 70

Issue #2514 new
Former user created an issue

Hi, I can import my raw images from my card with a card reader but 70% of them have been corrupted and have had err 70 when I try to import directly from 5DM2. Tried to have debug test but it cut of with an error message. Please kindly find the log file and browser screenshot attached. These photos are very critical for me. Thank you in advance. Cheers,

Yeap they look ok when view in camera, I could import with camera though. and when I try to import with card reader I can import but all files are corrupted and can not open with PS CC nor LR.

Yeap tried. As I mentioned I can not import also when I connect 5DM2 to pc. The error 70 appears on camera's screen.

"I could import with camera though" or "I can not import also when I connect 5DM2 to pc"

    You contradict yourself?!?

Sorry I forgot to write "not", I'm sorry. The right thing is I could not import through camera.

To copy the files, press SET to avoid loading ML from that card, then copy them.

I've encountered this problem (ERR70 while copying) on 5D2 years ago, but could not reproduce it. After you recover the files, do you mind keeping the contents of this card unchanged, so I can run a few tests on it to narrow down this issue?

Actually I have already tried this option (SET button and booting w/o ML) but still having ERR70. If I recover you are welcome for any kind of test btw.

In this case, Canon code might be running out of memory.

Can you turn off the boot flag and try again? Insert a card with ML (this or another, doesn't really matter), run firmware update, wait until the boot flag is disabled on the camera. Then restart with plain Canon firmware, with no trace of ML.

I checked all the options I think. I found that when the broken card inserted to the cam pc does not recognize the cam.

Wait a minute - you said "when the broken card inserted to the cam pc does not recognize the cam", but in the original description you said "have had err 70 when I try to import directly from 5DM2".

    Which of those is true?
