This is a prerequisite for the upcoming mini-iso. Actually, most of this backend code is mini-iso code refactored to be generic (and the rest is code that keeps track of all patches, and a status display).
check and fine-tune the API
refactor other things that patch memory at runtime (bitrate, expo override, fps table, playback zoom tricks...)
some stress tests
a way to apply a patch on top of another patch (I need this for mini_iso integration with dual_iso)
find out if the speed overhead is noticeable (and if so, fix it)
