Error: Cannot retrieve repository metadata (repomd.xml) from Open Source Package Management

At one time this all worked and now it doesn’t and I am not sure why. I tried of number of things I found about how to fix this this and none of them corrected the issue. Any ideas on what I should try?

Does your /QOpenSys/etc/yum/repos.d/ibm.repo contain an FTP url? That’s the number one issue we’ve seen when users run in to trouble.

If so, you may want to follow the instructions here: https://ibmi-oss-docs.readthedocs.io/en/latest/yum/README.html?highlight=ftp#switching-from-ftp-to-http-s (you can also just change the ftp to https or http). If you change to https, you will need to have ca-certificates-mozilla installed.

I had found that tip earlier the repo file now has:

**Beginning of data** [ibm] name=ibm baseurl=https://public.dhe.ibm.com/software/ibmi/products/pase/rpms/repo enabled=1 gpgcheck=0 *End of Data*****

And that did solve the problem.
