Status bar icon colors on light themed apps

Apps like Soundcloud and Phonograph are able to change the stock status bar icons to a darker color, since they have almost white status bar color. Would really appreciate it if that was possible with your module. Maybe you could put it in as an option since you already provide custom icon colors.
