Mmm, a bit hard to debug without a trace. Are you running the binary or from source?

Until this gets fixed, you can edit your shell config, by editing c:\Users\yourname\appdata\local\iep\config.ssdf manually.

I am having the same problem under windows 8. looked where you pointed and there is no iep folder. there is one under roaming instead of local, but it contains two empty folders "dummy files" and "tools". dummy is not completely empty. there is a shortcut in it called "dummy file" Hope we can figure this one out soon. this is the most promising ide I have seen for python. contact me at jefferylegere@gmail.com if you need more info one the error.

looked where you pointed and there is no iep folder. there is one under roaming instead of local, but it contains two empty folders "dummy files" and "tools". dummy is not completely empty.

Try restarting; IEP should write a config.ssdf (which is just a text file) next to these directories when it exits.
