E-mail reading

There would be an application server that will be reading a gmail account via POP3. Each user would have their own email, that would be something like: gtd+<<user hash>>@gmail.com. Thus, the server will be able to split the different email badges and create tasks for the given users.

The badge could be composed by user email+timestamp, so if the user ever need to recreate the badge, it's very easy.

This is great progress in achieving one of our most elusive goals. I
received an email notification reminder from Remember the Milk this
morning which also had me thinking.

Any recommendation regarding what we should research in order to
understand which application server would be best for this task?
