AIFF is still heavily used on Macs , partly because it can give superior playback on Macs, I think it uses ID3 for metadata so shouldn't be too hard to implement.

    Added support for writing to AIff, (Reading was already done), seems to work but needs testing

    Marking as done, as although not well tested yet not aware of any current issues, and if some are found should raise specific tickets
