Didn't retain "Extended" setting on update.

Issue #2 resolved
Ted Russ created an issue

Usability/UX issue:

I had a pre-release beta and installed the open beta which reset the viewer back to Simple mode. It’s not a serious bug but I’d get tired of setting things back to Extended mode every time there was an update. Other settings etc appear to have been preserved though.

It appears you reported something different than what was resolved. Specifically which settings did not save?

I originally had the private beta, had been using it in extended mode but when I updated to the open beta version it reverted back to simple mode. I thought resetting a user setting wouldn't have been a deliberate design decision, hence I reported it as something that might need looking at, at some stage.

Ah yes that explains it. Because we made changes that would only be picked up by a clean install, that is why you experienced that. There will be at least one more time when we do the official release 1.0 but after that clean installs should be rare. That means you will not lose your saved settings unless a clean install request is made with specific releases. Thanks for making sure we address this 😉
