The MSU-1 code does not have fading, tracks are switched to without fading and volume switches are sudden and jarring.

Fading would need to be done during the NMI, and while I have code to hook the NMI I have not, as of the closed alpha, done any further code as far as tracking fading. This is one of the things I wanted to test the rest before implementing as it would be a major change to the code (and thus could cause a lot more bugs along the way). This should be considered a blocker for the beta.
