SplitContainer error for forms (VSCode) - component will not be created

Upon creating a fresh powershell script with a new form and no content in it, trying to add a splitcontainer object in the designer yields the above error. I have tried multiple combinations in where I would place it - the form itself, inside panels, group boxes, etc. Even attempting to hardcode in a SplitContainer inside the InitComponent in the designer dock yields nothing.

VSCode Version 1.38.1 Pro Tools Version 4.9.0

The ability to create scaleable UI with this container is critical to creating tools for the service desk I work for. Is there anywork around or fix in progress for this component?
