Activated Posh Pro tools license but still getting an error
Hi,
I bought a license for Powershell Pro Tools and I entered the license key in the "About Powershell Pro Tools" and it seems to activate but I am not able to open the form designer, I have tried deleting %appdata%\PowerShell Pro Tools folder and redoing the license but that does not seem to help...

Issue not resolved for trial licenses.

If you restart Visual Studio, do you have the same issue?
-
Yes, Same issue on my work and personal computer. Have uninstalled/installed the extension, cleared %appdata%/Powershell Pro Tools

I have done the same, tried uninstalling and reinstalling, clearing appdata. Nothing seems to work…

Hi, why is this marked resolved? this issue is not resolved for me…

Reopening because this obviously isn’t fixed. I want to be able to validate a couple of things.
It sounds like you are doing this.
- Clear %appdata%/Powershell Pro Tools
- Open Visual Studio
- Click → About PowerShell Pro Tools
- Install License - States it is valid
- Windows Form Designer gives an error
- Restart Visual Studio
- Windows Form Designer still gives an error
I can’t reproduce it with these steps. After restarting Visual Studio, my Form Designer doesn’t give the error.
Is there an activation.lic file in %appdata%/Powershell Pro Tools? Would either of you be willing to jump on a Zoom call so we can chat and look at the issue together? You can email me at adam[at]poshtools.com if that’s the case.
I’ve fixed the issue where it requires a restart to use the form designer in this build if you would like to try it: https://poshtools.blob.core.windows.net/poshtools-releases/5.2.3/PowerShellTools.15.0.vsix

Adam,
I have emailed you this as well. I have a meeting at 10AM EST, but may be available after that, the steps I just took.

It looks like Brett’s issue was resolved by 5.2.3. I’ve published it to the Marketplace but will leave this issue open until we get some validation from other folks that it’s working for them as well.

We've resolved an issue in the Visual Studio extension that was cause the license to attempt to activate too frequently. This should be resolved in 5.2.1
