Unable to instantiate

I am attempting to use VS code.

When entering text in the scripting pane there is no intellisense or tab completion.

On attempting to run code via f8 I get two error messages.

The language service could not be started. And <ConsoleFeature>: Unable to instantiate; language client undefined.

I also have VS Community 2017 installed and everything functions fine from within it.
