Component-Awakespectrometer example has overlaps

Jochem Snuverink created an issue

Since 6th of May (http://jaiserv1.pp.rhul.ac.uk/cdash/viewTest.php?buildid=208&onlyfailed) the Component-AwakeSpectrometer example reports overlaps. The likely culprit that day is commit 931a908.

    This has been fixed with feed back from James Chappell at UCL. The variable _totalThickness was uninitialised resulting in incorrect geometry. This also fixes sporadic crashes as nans were passed to solids.
