Uncaught exception when loading external geometries with element

I think this is from loading the external geometry with the element element class although it is not clear. The GMAD is well-formed anyway, so something must be wrong.

I've attached the pair of files which throws this exception. Run bdsim --file=connected_zones.gmad

I'm on branch v1.0-rc

The error:

libc++abi.dylib: terminating with uncaught exception of type std::out_of_range: map::at:  key not found
