User Placed Samplers

It would be vey useful to be able to place a sampler at any location in the world environment. This would be a simple proxy for a detector.

• define position, rotation (axes angle or euler) w.r.t the world
• similar to a placement
• should be able to choose unique size
• should be able to choose perhaps square, rectangular or circular

We could potentially allow the user to supply their geometry and attach a sampler SD to it. This SD just records the steps that touch the surface of the volume, so it would work with a more 3D volume compared to a normal sampler.

This is implemented now and will be in the next release (V1.3). Rectangular and circular samplers or arbitrary size can be used.

Plans made for future development that will consolidate aperture code and allow use of any aperture shape to define the shape of the detector.
