Could something like air pipes be added in for a more permanent source of air from the surface?

In mining fresh air is brought in via blowers to mitigate the risk from gasses and dust.

Aye, but if we implemented air as an actual gas, that would absolutely slaughter the tick rate. Look at Enviromine if you want air quality in caves.

Perhaps someway to integrate with enviromines air quality in caves and use pipes to bring in air?

I think the author of Enviromine contacted Glenn about this in the past on this very topic. Let me go see if I can find out more.

Nah. Enviromine is a great mod. We can add relevant bits, I'm sure, but Glenn isn't interested and I have no time. Keep an eye out, I guess

There isn't actually any GasAir. You shouldn't need to pipe air from the surface unless you have another mod.
