suggestion for naive users

Lovely body of code, worked without a hitch. Nice to have it packaged up into a script.

One suggestion, for those of us (like me) who are mostly python-ignorant -- explain about python install files. Once I figured that out all went well with the script. And yes, that's about as basic as it gets, but hey, if you want to make the code usable by folks who just want the &^&$% file format changed... make it as easy as you can.
