Images Setup

Issue #1050 new
pentergun created an issue

Hey, Currently default setup for new images for each game is set to Box - Front, for all images added even after the first image added, so was just wondering if there was a possibility for this to get changed back to something similar like it used to be like, 1st picture would be Box - Front, but any other images added after that is set to something like fanart or screenshot gameplay, just makes setting up games in general a bit faster.

Also, Screenshot - Gameplay won't show up as background for the game selected even when the option to show it is enabled

I don't quite understand what you are asking? The behavior should already be that images get set to the proper folders. Box Art, Fan Art, Cart, Flyer, Clear Logo, etc are all separated when they're downloaded. I would try backing up your images and re-downloading fresh and see if that fixes your problem? However, maybe I don't quite understand.

Any pictures saved directly from google pictures & then added to the games gets set as Box - front automatically, i don't use the launchbox DB since i prefer customizing what is shown in my game list.

My question was just if there was a possibility for the default for added pictures to be switched to Screenshot - Gameplay or something else instead of having them set as Box - Front automatically as it would make things go a bit faster when editing through the list

This isn't trivial to many of us that manually add images. It really is a pain in the butt to have to manually change the image type for EVERY additional picture we add.

See issue 1080 for more clarification.

Like u said Brad Cheyne in Ron Barker's issue that u could name them properly, thats one way for sure, it still makes it harder to do things than it used to be, & believe it or not i got 1 game i got over 100s of pictures for (yes i know, a bit much...) thats a really big pain compared to how i could earlier just drop them all in & not do much other stuff than that, so this has just done it alot harder for ppl adding them manually

As u also have to put on -01, -02 etc.in the naming for multiple pictures of the same game to go into the same folder & actually working so u see it in launchbox

From what I have read on LB forums, my collection @ around 1500 games is one of the smaller ones. At even 5 pics per game, that's 7500 images.

Re-naming each of them, or having to select what type of image they are individually are my only options at this point.

This is not a project I am looking forward to after having gotten used to LB naming them for me.

All we're asking is that the default for the 2nd pic on be something other than box-front.

I'd even settle for it being that way from the 1st manually added pic, since then I'd only have to re-name one per set.
