Folder monitoring and filetypes

Issue #1282 new
Thorbjørn Skjetne created an issue

I really like the importing and scraping of folders.

Two features I would really like though is

1) the ability to scrape a whole folder for only one file type (my roms are allways in zip files, but this could also be the specific file types for that platform (Filetypes could be defined in the platform settings))

and in extention of this

2) the ability to set up launchbox to monitor certain folders for changes and either automatically or by prompt import and scrape any new files added

(Some of these are probably already on your list, but i thought I'd mention them anyways :) )

While it is fairly easy to isolate file types using windows search during the import process it isn't always apparent to all users that they can do this myself included. The option to choose which file types to import from the iwizard would be a way to make it easy and apparent to new users. It would have to allow the users to choose multiple file types also though for systems that have a hodgepodge of file types and some users may be using multiple file types for the same platform.

Additionally being able to define filetypes makes it so i can just "import folder" instead of picking files each time i make changes /additions to my collection. Especially since some emulators tend to crowd the folder with savestates or battery saves.

The dream would be proper folder monitoring though. So that launchbox can just prompt me if i want to import the new files detected once i drop files into the folders i set it to monitor. (With default import settings for the folders as well.) - This would also depend on file-type as i wouldn't want prompts if an emulator created a save file or similar.

It would be great if we have this option inside BigBox. Let's say, you go to OPTIONS > UPDATE PLATFORM > SCAN FOR NEW GAMES. And then BigBox use your art options, that you previously choose for that platform.
