Big Box Request: display customizable (help, instructional, MOTD) text as part of the UI

I use Big Box mode exclusively for my dedicated arcade cabinet. Whenever I have new people over, I find myself repeating the same instructions over and over. It would be a nice to be able to configure text to be displayed (via fixed location, scrolling, or even a pop-up) to provide basic navigational guidance, fun notes, etc. And, of course, you could get fancier with RSS feeds and the like.
